«Change» ist ein Song über die anstehenden Veränderungen in einer Paarbeziehung. Aber wir alle kennen das, Songs und ihre Texte führen meist ein individuelles Eigenleben – je nach HörerIn. Für mich war es immer ein Text, der generell auf die Notwendigkeit von Wandel und Veränderung hinweist, dann, wenn's nicht mehr funktioniert: when «we've come to ground».
Nur wir können diesen Wandel bewirken und gestalten – «bring on the changes». Das beginnt damit, das wir uns für oder gegen etwas ent-scheiden. Zu unserem Leidwesen vollziehen sich Veränderungen aber oftmals in dem etwas schleppenden Tempo, das sich auch durch diesen Song, der britischen Band Incognito, hindurch zieht. Dann heisst es, mits(w)ingen, dranbleiben und Stärke beweisen – «got to hang on and be strong».
